You could tell that Rondo was dominating the game yesterday, but it wasn't till the end that I realized that he was having one of those special statistical days. It is one thing to have a triple double (impressive in its own right) but another thing to do it with numbers like this. He finished with 32 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds. Wow. Here are some additional stats to put it into perspective.
The Rajon Rondo conundrum - WEEI | Paul Flannery
How good was Rondo’s game? That line has only been reached nine other times in the history of the NBA, by six other players. (Magic Johnson did it three times.) The roll call: Magic, Larry Bird, LeBron James, Jason Kidd, Reggie Theus and Baron Davis. (Hat tip to Beckley Mason for the find).
Stats and Info: Rondo's productive night
Just how good was Rajon Rondo's triple-double effort Sunday night? According to ESPN Stats and Info, Rondo scored or assisted on 65 of the Celtics' 95 points (68.4 percent). It was tied for the second-most points produced by a single player in a game this season (and just the seventh 60-plus game of the year).
Yup, that's a special game. Actually winning the game helps too.

For those who've been wanting to ship Rondo elsewhere....
Please read and re-read this article ’til you understand.

We know what he can do but
It’s not that c fans are aware of what we have. We need this rondo for games where we need a lift. He must become the go To guy when the others dint have it. Like against la and Toronto. If we can at least get this rondo in the playoffs I’ll be happy.

All or most of us know that he can do it- when he's up to it.
The question is still- his consistency; can he bring it almost every game, or does he play mind games with himself? He’s still an enigma of sorts.

Stats
Look at Rondo’s stats and his play when Pierce was hurt and his stats and play, until yesterday, since Pierce has been back. Doc Rivers said earlier in the season that it is Rondo’s team now, but Pierce is still the captain. Either Rondo is reluctant to step on Pierce’s toes, or Pierce is unwilling to let Rondo completely lead. Or maybe it’s some of both.

I am more impressed with the clutch free-throws.

One or two big games doesnt make a season
Give me a player that plays hard night in and night out anyday over a lil moody crybaby who by the way was playing against the bulls back up point guard. I still remember how pathetic rr has looked most of this season.

Yep
let’s completely throw out the whole idea that this was against one of the NBA’s best defenses with or without their starting point guard. And besides, “lil moody crybaby”? lol
