A few notes from around the league. First Zach Lowe takes a look at the market for Chris Kaman (note, the Celtics are at the bottom of the list - ie. not likely).
The Point Forward " Posts Monday Musings: In search of the perfect fit for big man Chris Kaman "
...huge expiring deals linked to so-so players rarely bring the sort of return fans dream about. That will almost certainly be the case with Kaman, a nice jump-shooting big who doesn’t draw many free throws, shoot a high percentage for a center or contribute better-than-average defense, passing and rebounding.
Next, old friend Kendrick Perkins is in a familiar role of sticking up for a prickly point guard teammate.

"He always gets this label of being selfish," Perkins said. "He’s not that at all. The one thing about Russ is he’s a scoring point guard, and that’s what we need him to be. That’s why this team has been successful because he does what he does. "The thing that bothers me … is Derrick Rose is not a true point guard, he is a scoring point guard, but nobody gets on Derrick Rose like they get on Russ."

Finally, the Lakers are shocked (shocked I say!) that the combo of Derek Fisher-of-men and Steve "Break" Blake isn't cutting it at the point guard spot, so they are looking elsewhere.
Lakers show interest in Cavs' Sessions - NBA - Yahoo! Sports
The Los Angeles Lakers have talked with the Cleveland Cavaliers about possibly acquiring guard Ramon Sessions, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. No deal is imminent, but the Lakers view Sessions as a candidate who could help their depleted backcourt. The Lakers are without injured guard Steve Blake, and have relied heavily on rookies Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris to play behind 37-year-old Derek Fisher.

Kaman???
To me Kaman would not be worth or have the desired effect to give up what it would take to acquire him. Hence Ainge’s comments. Something tells me that he will make a somewhat significant move (describe significant?), just not sure who. Just a feeling I can’t shake.
