Mickael Pietrus: I'm Sexy and I Know It

I really think I'm going to like this guy a lot. Mickael Pietrus has lived up to his billing as a plus defender and spot up shooter. He also knows his role and is very content filling it. In fact, we may have found the guy to take on the role that was vacated by James Posey years ago.

Pietrus: I'm sexy and I know it - Boston Celtics Blog - ESPN Boston

Pietrus doesn't need to do a whole lot to remind everyone that he's the most upstart guy in the room -- a personality trait that everyone on this Celtics roster is already appreciating -- and after Wednesday's 96-73 thrashing of the Toronto Raptors, in which he scored 12 points in 23 minutes on 4-of-7 shooting -- all from 3-point nation -- he answered reporters' requests for a quick chat by quickly singing: "I'm sexy and I know it." Wait, what? Such is what you will find when you encounter the endearing Pietrus, who just felt like dropping that line from the popular LMFAO song, "Sexy and I Know It." Few players could have sung that line and generated a room full of laughs the way Pietrus did.

I like that he's got that kind of personality. I think the team misses some of the fun-loving guys (Shaq, Nate, Baby, West) that are no longer on the team for better or worse. Hopefully everyone will be able to sing and laugh some more with a few more wins.

Interesting too that Pietrus will be facing his old team tonight. He didn't exactly leave on good terms from that team so we'll see how he performs against them.

MP3 in da houze!

I hated this guy when he was with the Magic but was very delighted when news broke that he was signing with the C’s!

Exactly my reaction as well

He was such a pest on the other side, and now he’s our pest. Love his energy and enthusiasm. Great pickup by Ainge.

Hope Piertrus is brought back for the next couple years..

Predicting a HUGE game from him tonight, he hated Phoenix.

Well...

not sure if Pietrius is sexy, but I did assume he would provide length, versatility athleticism, strong offensive, and defense off the bench and thats exactly what he has done to date.

His acquisition has added depth and has upgraded the back up wing position big time.
When all is said and done Pietrius’s acquisition by Ainge may turn out to be a steal.

all French people think they are sexy.
he is funny, i will give him that.

Ha ha--so true!
Wot?

Pietrus, and Bass can form a core group of key bench players for the years to come, while we also keep and develop Moore, Johnson, Avery, and Steimsma. I just wish I thought Danny saw it that way. I feel he has tended to not appreciate that its a star AND key roll player league and with Bass and Piettrus we have 2 perfect guys off the bench. (Should have kept Delonte too, but maybe there were conflicts). If Rondo ever develops that jumper and gets to 70% at the free throw line, we are great there too. If we can get the 2 key free agents that we should be able to get next year the rebuild is in great shape. I mainly worry about Danny not appreciating key roll players and Doc not developing the young guys but weve had a very good run under there control so we’ll see what the next chapter brings

pietrus is a younger posey.

Good pickup by Danny...

…everyone is so quick to point out Ainge’s mistakes but not some of his good moves. We have a solid bench with Bass,Dooling, Daniels and now Pietrus. If the big 3 can somehow tap into the fountain of youth one more time, they might surprise the critics. I wish Doc would trust the bench a little more in these subpar .500 matchups against lowly opponents though.

Charles Barkley said the other day on TNT

that he never saw anyone guard Lebron James as good as Pietrius did.
