Regardless if we win this game, I dont see us beating the bulls in a series. I really respect all the big 3 have done for the franchise, but clearly the NBA game is changing. Teams are getting younger, more athletic and talented while we seem to be content with flogging our aging war horses. We badly need youth to support the flourishing rondo, and a culture shift towards playing our rooks. Its the only way to find out what if we drafted studs or duds.
Try 1994 except Bird, Parish, and McHale are still with us
Hopefully, the Celtics will not make the same managerial blunders that put us in the ice ages. I cannot wait until 2036 to have another shot at the NBA title. I might not have that long.
They will likely be 4-8 after Monday night. Digging themselves quite a hole. And, they play more home games this month than any other month this season.
Not surprised with Garnet. All the signs were there last season. Still has flashes, like tonight in the 3rd, then slips back. Piece reminds me of Spring ’10 when he was playing hurt.
Wow you guys give up so easily on our team. Wait until the end of the year. If we’re not in the playoffs, blow it up. If we are, we’d still be in the hunt! come on guys!
It is time to panic because we don’t have the legs to run with the younger teams..does everyone think that is going to change with this current roster?..we are not going to make the play-offs!!..this is coming from a die hard celts fan..I love the big 3 but I hate losing even more!!..I am panicking because we look like sh%t out there!!
Are we old or out of shape? It’s hard to tell. We play well in spurts but it seems we run out of energy. I still have hope for this team. That is if it is a conditioning problem. There is no way this team could regress this much. PP does not look like himself. I think the heal is bothering him.
We coulda beat Miami, NY, Dallas, chicago…We were in those games in the 4th. The problem was we started slow and didn’t finish. We have to finish stronger.
New Orleans we shoulda be. Optimistically speaking we have life in most of these games, we just can’t put teams away. If we can solve whatever it is that’s causing that then we still have ashot.Rebounding and bad shots early suck. hopefully our youth will add some relief.
With the current stuggles with our rebounding seems to me we should get our offensive sets faster. Since we have a high efficiency offense it seems to me we need to take more shots to win. I say we start our offense with 20 seconds into the shot clock. That may improve our scoring.
Don't really understand people who say "blow it up"
The team is already set for rebuilding starting next year, and not slowly the Celtics will be way under the cap for a fresh start. You might be able to get some small pieces for trading part or all of the big 3 but nothing worth sacrificing this whole season for. Might as well enjoy the last ride even if they are no longer even longshot contenders. Also don’t understand people saying fire ainge, he did a great job considering the huge financial limitations (Celtics only had mini mid level, small trade exception, and BBD sign and trade to work with). It’s not ainge’s fault, it’s just the big 3 are too old. If you think about it the big 3 deserve credit, originally they were only going to be legit contenders for 2 years. Even last year it wasn’t impossible for them to go all the way, they contended for 4 seasons.
This team is done. They’ll win some games. Some nights they might even resemble what they once were but they cannot sustain it. They just got old. We knew this was coming back in 2007-08 when they were assembled. Most just didn’t think it would take this long to happen. What do you expect in year 5 of a 3 year plan?
Blaming doc or Danny is dumb and unfounded IMO. The only one to blame is father time and NO ONE defeats him. It is what it is and it aint pretty but we all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. In this case it really happened later then most thought. Father time caught up to our BIg Three. Right now we are starting one legitimate NBA starter(Rondo) and four guys who are this point should either be retired or playing a reduced roll.
You can either realize, “hey it’s been a great run” and appreciate these guys for what they brought back to Boston or whine about something no one had any control of to start with. Everybody gets old. It’s going to happen to you too.
Now we need patience because rebuilding this thing wont happen over night.
Yes
Break this team. Fire Danny

We should make a trade
But not any trade… So it’s not a situation where you just trade the Big 3 for a bunch of draft picks in my opinion.

Have to admit
That was a great comeback, but it wasn’t enough. PANIC BUTTON WHERE ARE YOU?!
SparzWizard - January 13, 2012
Is DA on the verge of being replaced-if so who takes his place
And is Doc going to be released and if so who takes over
Something is not working- the rookies aren’t playing
No foresight about rebounding yet another season
Etc etc
bbeingphilled - January 13, 2012 via mobile
Doc released with a new 5-year deal?
clover - January 13, 2012
done deal folks

well I meant
late 80’s in the sense that they were still capable of making the playoffs but an early exit was inevitable. The rot had set in.

Guys there is no Blow Up This year
Get over it…. Danny is teed up to blow up next year….
It will get much better… be patient.
David Henderson - January 13, 2012
Take it one game at a time and look for improvement within.
Don’t go the way of the J E T S
QuinielaBox - January 13, 2012
How/why will it get much better?

Panic? No.
Who says panic? I say, just move along… nothing to see hear anymore.
When you see Cleveland run past us, then it means we say goodbye to the season already.

What panic??

When the Celtics make the playoffs
and start making noise, I’ll laugh at this poll and how fans answered.

Tonight's game
Against the Bulls we played old. Slow to the ball, Rondo running one-man fast breaks. Our window may have closed.

Let's look realisitcally at this...

If the team thinks they can still win the championship this year......
Then yeah! Hit the panic button. Some sense of urgency is badly needed right now.
LarryBird33 - January 14, 2012
Not taking enough shots
